David J. Anderson writes Disappointed with Agile 2009 Program and I commented ...
I'm based in the UK and unlikely to attend unless I see something that really motivates me to argue with the boss to pay for the jaunt rather than visit one of my clients in the Middle East or Africa. ![]()
I have to say I agree with your general sentiment – finding new ways to be agile is part of agile – agile can’t afford to become a box that we get stuck in – it’s all about continual improvement. The program seems to be focussed on attracting new interest – all about how to become agile and some case studies to demonstrate that it’s real - and actually happening - and actually working for lots of organisations.
As I said I would love to come – but we’re already doing agile and it’s going well – so what would motivate me to travel West rather than East or South that week? I need fresh inspiration – new and radical ideas to try – and maybe I’d like to share some of our own radical ideas. Maybe I would get that from some of the case studies on the existing stages but the whole “finding new ways to be agile” thing is only going to appear there by accident, I think – so its in danger of not being there at all.
